In this production of Much Ado About Nothing, the part of Leonato was played by a woman with the character name Leona. The director instructed me to use the character of Miss Kitty from Gunsmoke for my inspiration for Leona. My design was to make Leona fit in with the bar maids, but be far more classy. For her main dress, my design was an off the shoulder bodice, with a skirt with several rows of ruffles. While I constructed Leona's dress, Beatrice's dress was constructed by others.
