I designed two different dresses for the character of Beatrice, to symbolize two different sides to her character. For most of the play Beatrice is very feisty, full of life, and longs for love. Beatrice shows a softer side during the wedding scenes as she supports her cousin Hero. I chose a wine-colored dress for the "feisty" Beatrice, and an aqua-colored dress for the "softer" Beatrice. A lace trim was added to the wine-colored dress to match the director's intended historical period. The picture includes three non-speaking cowboys that I also costumed.
